Mardi Gras 3000: Await the Neutral Hour Anthology Cris K.A. DiMarco, Editor |
|
Terrapyre warriors rule the night. Celestial knights command the day. For one hour, at dawn and dusk, they clash. The clan that retrieves the Grail and unlocks a Portal will control reality. It began as an addictive CCG with a haunting atmosphere and lush, intelligent back story, but unique and introspective game designer E.J. Angel and players everywhere changed MG3K into something far more. Submission Guidelines Windstorm is accepting short stories for the "Mardi Gras 3000: Await the Neutral Hour Anthology" until November 1, 2008. Add your vision to this universe alive with faith, passion and an immortal quest for the Grail. With stories personally selected by game designer E.J. Angel, Windstorm Creative will publish "Mardi Gras 3000: Await the Neutral Hour," a collection of science fiction, fantasy and horror. Stories are being reviewed now. Has your imagination been captured by the Mardi Gras 3000 world of Terrapyres, Celestials and the Grail? Do you have a favorite existing character from one of the MG3K starter decks or an original character of your own? Share your ideas with E.J. and MG3K fans all over the world. The best stories will be published in "Mardi Gras 3000: Await the Neutral Hour." Winners will receive an honorarium of $20 (U.S. funds), name credit on the front cover of the book (and inside, of course), a free copy of the anthology, and a Mardi Gras 3000 starter deck of their choice. Winners will be invited to read and autograph their story at bookstores and gaming stores in their local area. All guidelines are required and must be followed for a story to be considered. Stories must be postmarked by November 1, 2008, typed, double-spaced. Send to: Windstorm Creative Attn: MG3K Anthology 7419 Ebbert Dr SE Port Orchard WA 98367 Stories can be science fiction, fantasy or horror. Stories must mention or feature one or more characters from one of the starter decks. One of these MG3K characters does not have to be a main character in the story. They don't even have to be named as long as the reference to them or the description of them makes it obvious who they are. Stories must follow the rules and guidelines of the Mardi Gras 3000 universe as detailed in the Mardi Gras 3000 Sourcebook that comes with all starter decks. No story should include an immortal successfully harnessing the Grail or what might come after a successful opening. No story should feature an Angel. No profanity, explicit sex or violence against children. Stories should be between 1000 and 3000 words in length. A biographical statement about the author (100 words or less) must be included. Authors of all ages are welcome. A self-addressed stamped envelope must be included for our response to you. Include an additional envelope if you what your story returned. |
