Little Blue Works: Children's Fiction

Dedicated to future readers, Little Blue Works publishes books for listeners ages 1 to 7. We publish books to be treasured, that encourage both a love for the written word and for beautiful imagery.

Each book is an 8x8, high-quality trade paperback, packaged with a CD. CDs include an audio edition of the book to play on your home stereo and a read-to-me edition for the computer. Many of the CDs also include printables like posters, crafts, trading cards and coloring pages. You can also send us your receipt for an incredible Blue CardTM, a deep blue, luminescent card personally autographed by the author. The Blue CardTM shows how much personal care goes into the making of each Little Blue Works' title.

When choosing which stories to publish, we look for gentle messages and great adventures. We prefer stories that do not rhyme. We publish both color and black-and-white books. Young readers may not be aware of the recycled paper or matte cover finish we use, but they will know our books are special.

All of our books are created with the strictest of environmental protections in mind. Our innovative approach to no-waste, no-hazard, in-house production, and stringent out-source scrutiny, assures that our goals are met whether books are printed at our own facility or an outside printing press.

We produce our full-color books in small print runs of 5,000 copies each, reprinting when we've sold 80% of the run, so there's never a time when a book is unavailable but also protecting ourselves--and all of our natural resources--from massive print runs where so many books are destined for remaindering and destruction. We're trying our best to leave the world a cleaner place for even our youngest listeners.
