Reflections

When something inside the glass began to move, wafting up from the bottom like foggy fingers, I dropped the glass cleaner and cloth. Bundling the mirror under my arm, I bolted from the room towards the back veranda where Mom and Dad were relaxing. I barged through the screen door, slamming its handle against the wall.

"Mom! Dad! There's something in this mirror!"

Twelve-year-old Jess has always been afraid of enclosed spaces. She won't take the lift at the library or get on an airplane. But she loves to go to garage sales with her father.

On one of these outings, they bring back four mirrors, and right away Jess thinks she sees a reflection--of someone who's not there. Jess seems to be the only one who can see the images in the mirrors and as she slowly pieces together the mystery, she realizes that a tragedy is about to take place--a tragedy that she can prevent.

The only problem is that it happened in 1952.
